Bead Table Wednseday    Monday, February 24, 2014

It's Bead Table Wednseday!
I'm finishing up some new beads for a little challenge I'm doing with a few of my fellow Art Bead Scene contributors.
I'm loving these colors for spring: coral, robin's egg blue, leafy green and an acid yellow.
Bead Table Wednesday is a fun way to connect with other beady creatives. You can share your bead table or work in progress - messy or staged. There are no rules! Share your post in the link below or on Instagram. Use the hashtag #beadtablewednesday.
So what's on your bead table?

Humblebeads' Customer Gallery    Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Today I wanted to feature some of the amazing creations my friends on Facebook have been sharing with me!  These are just too fantastic, I want to show them off to everyone! Designers just blow my mind with how they use my beads, always so creative and clever.

Let's start with my all time favorite Van Gogh creation from Gloria Ewing, Starry Night Necklace.  I would have never in a million years thought to use one of my spacer bar beads that way.  Just when I think I should retire myVan Gogh series someone comes along with a brilliant idea and I fall in love them all over again.

Bead Table Wednesday Resurrected!    Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Yes! Bead Table Wednesday!!! Let's do this!
On my bead table - my lovely hibiscus flower pendants in progress.
I really enjoyed Bead Table Wednesday when it started out and thought it would be a fun way for you to share your work! It's a nice way to have something new to blog about each week and connect with other designers and beadmakers.  In the very 'connected' world of social media it can be easy to feel like a little squeak in the roar that goes on around us. So let's join together and chat, share what we are working on and really connect with each other!
Share & Connect:
You can snap a photo, share it on Instagram, your blog or on my Facebook page
You can share a work-in-progress, a total disaster (I know, I have the same bead table) or a finished project - it's up to you - no rules, just fun!
Use hashtag #BTW or #BeadTableWednesday on Instragram so I can follow along with you!
If you blog about it, you can grab one of the icons below and link back here. That would be awesome-sauce.

Acorn Pendant - Bead of the Week    Monday, October 14, 2013

Squirrel this Acorn Pendant away for your next autumn-inspired project!  This fun and whimsical design is taken straight from my sketchbook.  Pair it with brass chain and Czech glass leaves for a quick and easy necklace. Or pull out leaf chain and branch connectors for some forest finery for your acorn pendant.

I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree,
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.

Humblebeads Weekend Share-a-thon!    Friday, October 11, 2013

I'd like to invite you on Saturday and Sunday each week to stop by my Facebook page and share a recent or maybe not so recent piece of jewelry featuring Humblebeads.  Each week I will pick a few to share on Friday here on the blog.  This is my picks from Facebook and Etsy from this week:

Carol Dekle-Foss of Terra Rustica Designs created these gorgeous autumn inspired earrings with enamel leaves and Humblebeads Copper Branch Disks.  So love the colors!

Rebecca Anderson of Songbead just has a way of making Humblebeads shine!  This bracelet makes me want to sing!!!  She paired her Humblebeads Dragonfly Cuff with a great collection of Czech glass and brass.

My friend Molly Schaller designed this elegant set pairing copper chain with her Humblebeads Hibiscus Pendant, Leaf Pendant and Wobbles.  Look at those clever earrings and the little touch of asymmetrical design with the tiny accent beads creates a unexpected and welcomed surprise.

Kaushambi Shah of Ornament Lounge created a pair of earrings with her Humblebeads Petal Headpins in teal and added colorful glass accents.

Wooden House Bead - Bead of the Week    Monday, October 7, 2013

I will be offering a new Bead of the Week during October and November.  The first one up is my Wooden House Bead.  This faux bois house bead will add instant rustic charm to your next design. They rock as a pendant or bracelet focal.

A faux bois wood texture gives this house some rugged character.

Check out this sweet braceket my friend Rebecca Anderson of Songbead created using one of the Wooden House Bead!  Love that striking color combination.
